Walrus

Walrus

  • The walrus uses its whiskers to find its invertebrate food, sometimes diving down 300 ft (91 m) to retrieve its very favorite food, clams, from the ocean floor.
  • Air sacs in the walrus’ neck allow it to sleep with its head held up in the water.

Sea creatures of the fith day.

Yesterday Jessica and Sarah and I and our next-door-neighbors Grace and Amy studied sea creatures of the fifth day. We learned a lot about "filter feeders" that live on the bottom of the ocean. They eat. That's all they do! Eat, eat and eat! They suck up the dirty water and then squirt out clean water so the other animals don't drink it and get sick.
